Last summer my daughter and I travelled around Uzbekistan.
We visited several ethnographic museums and spent many hours wandering in markets and traditional fabric shops. I have lots of photos.
I loved the designs and colours of the traditional Uzbek coats.
On returning home I made a study of the shapes, styles and colours of the coats looking at my photos and continuing my research on the internet.
I made lots of small patterns and choosing my fabrics carefully using Uzbek colours and small pieces of original fabric I made the quilt that has been displayed on the wall in the Quilt cabin ever since it was finished.
I have around 25 different patterns for the small coats.
I use a particular method of applique using baking parchment and this will be taught on the class.
The patterns can easily be enlarged. Free machine skills will be taught on the class
