Join us for this one-day workshop to make this mastepiece, a horse wall hanging from Denim jeans onto a patchwork background.  You will create this stunning piece using the layered applique technique.  We have used several shades of denim with a dark cotton for the horse's stable.  Finish with some free-motion stitching. The wall hanging is 17" x 22" when complete.

A full kit is provided but you may have some denim jeans at home that you want to recycle.  

The class is 10am - 4pm.

On the day you will learn:

• Layered applique
• Build the patchwork background
• Placement of the pieces
• Using bondaweb
• Tracing shapes
• How to drop your feed dogs
• How to attach your darning foot or open-toe foot
• Suitable thread to use
•  How to set up your machine to get best results
• Advice about needles 
• Stabilizers
• How to guide your machine to get perfect results

Having a sewing machine with the facility to drop the feed dog and a darning foot is essential. Alternatively, if you don't have a sewing machine,  we have Brother machines are available in the studio; please ask when booking.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served throughout the day, you may want to bring a packed lunch.
